The Baulkham Hills North Public School Parents’ and Citizens’ Association (P&C) welcomes you to our school community. As you are aware, BHNPS is located in a leafy environment where our children are provided with resources to support their academic, sporting and cultural development and success. Many of these resources have been provided by an active P&C that continues to strive to support the school and build a community atmosphere.
At the school, parent involvement is actively encouraged. The P&C is an avenue for parents to be involved and have input into the functioning of the school. The P&C is responsible for three active subcommittees: the Uniform Shop, Canteen and School Club.
The P&C provides a valuable link between home and school. Our Principal gives a report at our monthly meetings. As well, representatives from the other parent bodies report at these meetings. This helps to provide a clear understanding about the life of our school community. The meetings are held every third Tuesday of the month, during term from 7.30pm, usually in the staff room or library. The meetings are specifically held at night to allow attendance by parents who are unavailable during the day. We are trialling one daytime meeting this year which we hope will successfully meet the needs of most parents!
The P&C is a forum in which many issues related to the education of our children are discussed. Teachers sometimes give presentations on different aspects of children’s education. It is a valuable opportunity to gain insight into teaching and learning. This year we have introduced P&C class representatives to improve parental participation and communication. Please contact one of the executives through the school front office or your class representative if you have any questions.
