Parents, please amend your calendars.
Trivia Night will be held on Week 5 Saturday the 1st of June.
Unfortunately our website is not running correctly at the moment. Our staff are currently working with the DEC and our website host in an attempt to get the website up and running as soon as possible. The only page of the website that is functioning is the principal's message. My apologies for any inconvenience that this may be causing families. As soon as the website is up and running, we will advise families.
Mother's Day Stall
Congratulations and thanks to the school club parents who ran the Mother's Day stall last week. Special thanks to Mrs Finch and Mrs Zann who spent countless hours preparing for the stall. It is no mean feat running a stall for 810 customers especially when 25% of your customers are under six years of age.
Pedestrian laneway between Beresford Ave and Jindabyne Ave
As you may be aware this laneway has barricades at each end in an attempt to stop people walking through. I have contacted the council road safety officer and she has advised that the council believes that it is currently not safe for pedestrians to walk through the laneway as one of the fences is structurally unsound and they believe that it may pose a risk to pedestrians if it was to collapse. Parents, can I ask you to talk to your children about staying away from the laneway while it is considered unsafe and advising them on a safe alternate route if the laneway was part of their usual route to school.
Our intention to offer families the option of receiving the newsletter as either hard copy or online will remain on hold until the issues around the website have been resolved.
NAPLAN testing commenced for Years 3 and 5 this morning. The teachers reported that the students took things in their stride. My mantra is that the students should see NAPLAN testing as "no big deal". If you are interested you can find out more about NAPLAN testing at www.naplan.edu.au
Have a great week.
